FIGHT AGAINST BREED RACISM
Make a Difference Today❤️
Fight Against Breed Racism wants to spread our message of hope and compassion. We believe that a single action can make a difference in the community, and that collective action can greatly impact the world. Through advocacy and outreach activities, our team works tirelessly with misunderstood type dogs each day to contribute their part to the greater good.
WHO WE ARE
Our Roots
Here at F.A.B.R , we know that sometimes all it takes to change society's perception is a little education, knowledge and support. Since our founding in 2020, we have been determined to make an impact for the canines struggling due to aggression, mental health, behavior issues or for their breed.
Meet the inspiration for starting this. Jax the man! Jax came into our lives October 2020 and from the moment our eyes met, we knew we were in love. And that's when the #fightagainstbreedracism journey really began.
Jax has the power to show the world how loyal, loving, sweet, funny and family oriented his breed is. How the most misunderstood dog breed, truly has a heart and soul. We look at him and see his power to heal people, because he's healed us. His power to make a significant change in the dog community. And not just in our community but all communities.
"Jax's New Leash on Life, For the Underdogs" isn't just a slogan or a campaign to us. It's our life's mission. Our gift to Jax, for coming into our lives and changing everything in our lives. Giving the underdogs of the world a chance to heal and be accepted for who they are.
If all human lives matter, then all dog lives matter. You may say well, human lives are far more important. And to be honest someone who says that, isn't a dog person. Or have felt the loyalty and unconditional love a dog brings. But my fellow dog people, we know you understand and we know you see how important all dogs are and all breeds need to be protected. Not matter size, body type, color or stigma out there. Dogs came to us in hopes of partnership. As companions and as protectors. Isn't it fair we do the same for them? Isn't it our duty after centuries and decades of loyalty we give something back to them?!
We say, it's far over due. With Jax by our side, helping us save, socialize, rehabilitate and heal his fellow comrades, we know we can make a significant change and difference in the lives of these feared, mistreated and misunderstood dogs.
Strong and powerful breeds are some of the most misunderstood, feared and mistreated breeds in North America. As well as dominant and so called aggressive breeds. Thousands in our very own home of Ontario alone are euthanized, seized, dumped and surrendered. And at FABR we want to change that starting today, with you!
We strive to help our power breed types, bully types, large and extra large dogs, the ones shelters and some rescues would dare take in. Our Sanctuary is about, rehabilitation, healing, caring for them and helping the adoptable ones, find their forever homes. And we do home here at the sanctuary, the ones we feel humans will fail or put in danger due to some of their behaviors. Every dog deserves a chance at life. Despite having a rough past, trauma or even a bite record. A chance to be loved and for some, have a family outside the sanctuary. Here at FABR we make that happen.
Within our sanctuary, our fosters, our volunteers and our community, help us in providing dogs with a safe place to be. A place for them to be the best they can be without judgment.
Once we take in a dog into our Sanctuary, our team starts assessments and building a management plan on what the dog needs are base on the dog's behaviors, personality and history (if we are giving any info of course). From there our team works with each dog individually to help them become ready to find their forever homes. We work hard to ensure our dogs have all the fundamentals needed in life and behavior wise to be successful in their new homes. With daily exercise, management, socialization and lots of play time.
Through all of our endeavors we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs.
Help us make a difference. Adopt, foster, advocate or donate. Or join our education and rehabilitation program with your canine. Every dog life matters, regardless of breed. Be their voice and stand up for these misunderstood canines!
Our Canine rehabilitation and therapy program is our extended mission for the underdogs. We know many dog owners give up on their dogs due to not having the experience and knowledge needed to get through behavioral issues and aggression. Our programs are designed specifically for you and your canine. Unlike many other canine rehabilitation programs, we don't believe in cookie cutter molds for our programs. We know just like each person is unique, so is every dog. Every program is custom tailored around your dog's needs, your needs and your home life and lifestyle. We ensure to make this a partnership with your canine to truly be successful!
SUPPORT
We understand that no organization or individual can achieve lasting change alone. We actively collaborate with other animal welfare organizations, trainers, canine groups, and community partners to maximize our impact and reach a broader audience. Through collaborative efforts, we seek to inspire others to join our cause, building a network of support and transforming more lives, one paw at a time.
EDUCATION
We believe that education plays a crucial role in creating a more compassionate society. Through public campaigns, educational programs and advocacy efforts, we work to raise awareness about the misunderstood nature of bully breeds and power breeds, addressing misconceptions and promoting responsible pet ownership. By fostering understanding and empathy, we strive to eliminate discrimination and promote the well-being of all dogs, regardless of breed, or behavior. Our educational program is focused on offering courses to help you be a better pack leader with more understanding for your canine companions. With a fundamental understanding in dog psychology and dog body language.
ADVOCACY
By combining our passion for rescue and rehabilitation with our commitment to honoring our beloved canines, and partnering dogs with families or individuals, we aim to make a significant difference in the lives of both bully breeds and the people and families we work with. Through compassion, advocacy, and collaboration, F.A.B.R aspires to create a society where everyone is valued, loved, and given the opportunity to thrive.
In 2025 we plan on organizing events to advocate and be the voices needed to make society aware and to educate them. Don't Discriminate, Educate!
REHABILITATION
Our innovative solution for dog owners facing challenges with aggressive or behavioral issues in their canine companions. We are not trainers and we do not offer obedience training. We do have partnerships with amazing dog trainers to help you with obedience training.
Our unique programs are not cookie-cutter solutions; they are carefully tailored to meet the individual needs of each dog and owner. We understand better than most that no two dogs or handlers are the same. We combine personalized rehabilitation with hands-on owner involvement to transform the dog and handler relationship. Our programs are only for handlers/dog owners who want to embark on this journey with their dog. This is a partnership we are helping to build successfully between your canine and yourself.
Mental Health Program
For people with disabilities, such as Autism, or mental health conditions, having a bully breed or a dog who is able to emotionally connect with humans as a companion can be especially beneficial. These dogs can provide a sense of security, routine, and comfort to those who may struggle with social interaction or sensory processing. They can help individuals feel more confident and independent while also providing a calming presence during times of stress or anxiety.
At the sanctuary, we work closely with individuals with disabilities and mental health conditions to match them with the perfect canine for their specific needs.
